The goal of the YBJ Initiative is to enhance the number of Jewish university students engaged in Jewish activities or having meaningful Jewish experiences in NSW.
How does YBJ work?
Hillel enlists the help of YBJ Partners to build relationships with other Jewish students on and off campus in NSW.
The partners strive to understand students’ interests, passions, and aspirations – and connect them to opportunities that they may find meaningful and engaging.
YBJ provides a means to connect to opportunities and resources to students who are uninvolved, but might be interested in having a meaningful Jewish experience. In doing this, we hope to direct more unengaged students to increase the total number of university students participating in Jewish life.
YBJ inspires students to create their own Jewish future. YBJ strives to reward student ingenuity and enable further success.
YBJ encourages creativity, risk-taking, and the creation of real social value in building for a better future. In recognizing an inherent balance between the universally human and the distinctively Jewish nature of today’s university students – YBJ seeks to reach more students on the basis of their interests, passions, and aspirations.
