Imagine a cultural hub…

Jewish young adult – Mel Kaplan asks that young adults (18-30) fill out a quick online survey in her endevour to create a hypothetical community cultural hub for her final year in her Masters of Architecture!

A rough outline of her idea is as follows:
To design a building that would act as a community centre/cultural ‘club’ for young adults in the Sydney Jewish community. The building would have a focus on social and educational activities, and it would be a central hub for young people in our community to meet their friends, study, eat & drink, learn, attend events, watch movies, exercise, and work. At the moment she is proposing to locate the building in Surry Hills.

Generally the building would include the following spaces:
- Restaurant & bar
- Cafe/deli
- Lounge rooms
- Study spaces
- Resource room/library
- Event spaces/function halls
- Gym facilities
- Cinema space
- Office spaces
- Outdoor courtyards/gardens
- Car parking

Filling out this survey will help Mel deem if her idea is realistically viable!

If you’re on campus, you might have noticed that it’s Revue season. There’s a law revue, a med revue, an arts revue, a science revue and the list goes on. If you’re Jewish and you know it (reference to hilariously lame take on ‘I’m Sexy and I know it’), you might be happy to know there is also a Jew Revue!

Boasting more guilt and angry grandmothers per square inch than any other Revue this season, ‘Curb Your Judaism’ promises passion, revenge, betrayal and the slight chance of a Socialist Alternative protest.

Curb Your Judaism is coming to a campus near you –> UNSW on 26th & 28th April, and USYD on 10th & 12th May.
