In an epic community challenge, you are encouraged to register online to host or attend a Shabbat dinner, with a group of your friends.
Shabbat3000 isn’t going to tell you how to do your dinner – that’s entirely up to you. Be colourful. Be creative. Think venue. Think menu. Whatever and however. Just be a part of it.
Are you up for the challenge?
Lets celebrate the diversity within the young adult Jewish community. Whether you are single, a couple, a student, a new family, intermarried, a young professional, GLBTI, communally engaged, unaffiliated, or if you’re looking to reconnect – Shabbat 3000 welcomes you with open arms to this unique experience. Shabbat 3000 will suit all; Reform, Orthodox, Conservative, Cultural, Traditional, secular, curious, Sephardi, Ashkenazi or anyone in between.
There is no ‘one’ type of Jew and there is no ‘one’ way of celebrating Shabbat – it’s open to everyone and every mode of expression is possible. Shabbat 3000 is a celebration of diversity and embraces the various ways in which our community members express their Jewish Identity. There is no single style of Shabbat dinner and there are many and varied ways of celebrating and honouring Shabbat. Participants are encouraged to add their own flavour and style to the many and varied Shabbat meals that will be hosted all over Sydney.
