C4H successful first bake of the year!
On the 24th March, 2011, C4H Sydney had its first bake of the year making over 150 challot. The challot were sold to hungry, passersby at the University of Sydney by AUJS. By the end of the day not only was every challah sold, but students were coming up to the stall asking for more.
Alyce Schneider, founder of the Sydney branch of Challah for Hunger, said “C4H allows people to give back in a fun and comfortable environment, where university-aged young adults engage in very meaningful Jewish experiences, learning to making challah and practising tikkun olam.”
Schneider continued, “I think C4H is such a wonderful program and it has been very fulfilling to watch it grow successfully over the past two and half years. We are so proud to see different groups of students come together to do charity in such a wonderful way.”
